Welcome to the Eastmont Technology Center!
ETC has been serving the community since 1997 as an open access technology center that offers free computer classes in English and Spanish, Internet access, career building workshops, and a technology-based after school program for youth ages 10 – 18.
Classes and Workshops We Offer Include:
Introduction to Computer Basics:
ETC currently offers an 8-week course designed to help beginners with the basics of computer navigation, as well as the relevant terminology. Students will learn the use of the Microsoft Windows operating system, the basic components of MS Word 2007, and how to browse the Internet and use email.
Intro to MS Word/Publisher/ PowerPoint 2007 Workshop:
This is an ongoing 8-week workshop that will teach the many ways that Microsoft Word, Publisher and PowerPoint can be used. Students will learn how to create business cards, flyers, newsletters, brochures and more! It provides a great opportunity for students to explore the creative side of using Microsoft Office software tools.
Internet and Computing Core Certification class (IC3):
ETC provides a 5-month computer literacy course to prepare adults for today’s workforce environment. This course is designed to help students obtain intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and email skills, as well as the basics of computer hardware and software geared towards employment opportunities. The IC3 class is a nationally recognized program that helps participants enhance their resumes and also provide a prerequisite for other advanced computer certification classes (A+ Certification, MS Office Specialist). The Eastmont Technology Center is a Certiport Authorized Testing Center. Certiport is the leading provider of value-added, computerized test delivery services. Please call the center to make an appointment and information on testing procedures.

The Eastmont Intel Computer Clubhouse:
The Eastmont Intel Computer Clubhouse is a creative and safe afterschool learning environment where youth ages 10-18, work with mentors to explore their own ideas, develop skills, and build self-confidence through the use of technology. Clubhouse members utilize technology including Photoshop, 3D animation, video, graphic design, web design and music production to create, and express their interests, imaginations and ideas. Members receive one-on-one mentorship as well as college preparation and guidance.
